Venezuelan Armed Forces Pledge Allegiance to Maduro’s Successor Delcy Rodríguez

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Delcy Rodríguez assumed command of Venezuela‘s armed forces during a ceremonial event attended by senior defense officials. Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López declared full institutional backing for Rodríguez, urging unified support during what he termed “exceptional circumstances” for the nation.
The transition follows reported US military intervention in Caracas and the detention of President Nicolás Maduro. Rodríguez now oversees provisional governance while Maduro remains detained. During the loyalty ceremony, Padrino López emphasized the armed forces’ constitutional duty to recognize Rodríguez’s authority, describing the moment as “unprecedented in Venezuelan history.”
Security forces including national police participated in the event, with military personnel conducting a formal march-past before the new commander. The gathering reportedly included over 3,000 service members from multiple branches.
