European Ministers Label US as a Threat for the First Time Amid Greenland Dispute

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that European Union foreign ministers, during a recent meeting, characterized the United States as a threat to Europe for the first time. This unprecedented declaration comes amid deteriorating transatlantic relations following former President Donald Trump’s expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, a move strongly opposed by European nations.
The US’s recent actions to assert control over Greenland, a strategically vital island in the North Atlantic, have significantly heightened security concerns in Europe. Trump has insisted that the US will accept nothing less than full control of Greenland and has imposed a 10% tariff on countries opposing the acquisition, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland.
Meanwhile, Danish military officials have raised alarms over recent US military movements, warning of a potential imminent attack on the island, further intensifying the crisis’s military dimension.
