Trump stated that the situation is progressing favorably for both the United States and Mexico.

He emphasized that the discussion heavily focused on border security and efforts to combat drug trafficking. Trump added that the two leaders plan to hold joint meetings in their respective countries in the near future.

Mexico is among the countries Trump previously threatened with military action under the pretext of combating drug trafficking.
