Future Iraqi Government Faces Major Challenge Over ISIS Transfer

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kazem al-Alawi, a member of Iraq‘s Coordination Framework coalition, emphasized that the country’s future government will face a major challenge concerning the transfer of ISIS elements into Iraq. Al-Alawi stressed that the next Iraqi administration must persuade European countries, particularly France and Germany, to repatriate their ISIS-affiliated nationals.
Al-Alawi further stated that Iraq cannot bear the burden of these ISIS elements alone. Should the mentioned countries fail to cooperate, Baghdad will formally file a complaint against them at the United Nations. He also noted that among these individuals are prominent ISIS leaders who should be tried in their home countries.
Hundreds of ISIS members have recently been transferred from Syrian prisons to Iraq under U.S. supervision.
