Rafah Crossing Reopens with Israeli Restrictions Amid Escalation in Gaza

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Rafah crossing has been reopened with significant restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities. The initial phase of the reopening was conducted in the presence of representatives from the European Union and Egypt, permitting only 150 individuals to cross.
This development comes amid heightened military actions by Israeli forces in various parts of the Gaza Strip. Al Jazeera previously reported, citing Israeli affairs expert Mahmoud Yazbek, that Tel Aviv aims to portray Gaza as unstable. The report highlighted the unusual intensification of attacks ahead of the crossing’s reopening.
Earlier, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated that normal life should not be allowed to return to Gaza. Meanwhile, Ali Shaath, head of the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, announced via social media that Sunday, February 1, has been designated as a trial day for implementing the Rafah crossing’s operational mechanisms.
