Ayatollah Khamenei Iran’s Supreme Leader Warns of Regional War if U.S. Initiates Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iran‘s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei warned that any military conflict initiated by the United States would inevitably become a regional war. Speaking at a gathering in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Hussainiya, attended by thousands marking the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Khamenei dismissed U.S. threats as repetitive rhetoric, asserting that the Iranian people remain undeterred by such provocations.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that Iran has no intention of starting a war or attacking any country but would respond forcefully to any aggression. He framed the decades-long tension with the U.S. as stemming from America’s desire to dominate Iran, which the Islamic Republic and its people have steadfastly resisted. The Supreme Leader highlighted Iran’s strategic resources—including oil, gas, and mineral wealth—as key factors attracting foreign ambitions, recalling the 30-year period of U.S. influence during the Pahlavi era.
Rejecting U.S. claims about human rights and other issues as pretexts, Khamenei characterized the core conflict as a struggle over Iran’s sovereignty. He vowed that Iran would continue to stand firm against external pressures, aiming to thwart any attempts at foreign domination.
