US Moves to Restrict China’s Access to Oil Through Sanctions and Seizures

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States is actively working to curb China’s access to energy resources through sanctions and the interception of oil tankers. This strategy comes as China has significantly boosted its oil imports from countries under U.S. sanctions, including Iran, Venezuela, and Russia, particularly after the Ukraine war.
In 2026, the U.S. escalated its measures by conducting a military operation in Venezuela that ousted President Nicolás Maduro and placed the country’s oil resources under American control. This move reportedly cut China’s daily oil supply by 400,000 barrels.
In response, China has been exploring alternative routes to secure its oil needs. Iran, meanwhile, has continued its oil trade with China using innovative methods to bypass sanctions.
These sanctions have not only impacted governments but also affected ordinary citizens, turning energy into a political weapon in global geopolitics.
