Iran Leads Publication of New International Nanotechnology Standard

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, the 13th international standard developed under Iran’s leadership in nanotechnology, titled ‘Nanotechnology — Test Method for Detection of Nanoparticles Released from Masks’ (ISO/TS 11353:2026), has been published. This standard, supported by the Nanotechnology Development Headquarters, was formulated by a working group of experts from academia and industry.
The standard provides a globally recognized testing method to identify nanoparticles released from masks, addressing emerging global needs in health and protective equipment safety. The development process, typically spanning three years, involves technical reviews, international consultations, and rigorous evaluations by ISO member countries.
Iran’s leadership in this standard reflects its active role in shaping international technical requirements and enhancing global confidence in its scientific expertise. With this publication, Iran ranks fourth globally in nanotechnology standard development within ISO, following the U.S., South Korea, and Japan.
