Russia Reaffirms Commitment to Nuclear Doctrine Amid Evolving Warfare Tactics

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, stated that Russia remains steadfast in its nuclear doctrine, citing no current need for nuclear weapons as no serious threat exists. He emphasized that modern warfare developments, including drones and missiles, are now factored into nuclear deterrence strategies.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia‘s Security Council, has reaffirmed Russia’s adherence to its nuclear doctrine in an interview with TASS news agency. Medvedev asserted that Moscow has not resorted to nuclear weapons to date, indicating the absence of a significant threat to the country.
He further elaborated that the updated principles of nuclear deterrence now account for the changing nature of warfare and the emergence of new weaponry. Medvedev clarified that nuclear weapons could now be deployed not only in response to a nuclear attack but also against the extensive use of drones and missiles.
