Russia Condemns Japan’s Military Buildup as Threat to Regional Peace
Russia’s Foreign Ministry has labeled Japan’s military expansion and aggressive posturing as a threat to stability in the Asia-Pacific region, warning Tokyo through diplomatic channels.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement condemning Japan’s policy of remilitarization and enhancement of offensive capabilities as a destabilizing factor in the Asia-Pacific region. The statement cited Tokyo’s removal of pacifist constitutional restrictions, increased military spending, and expanded joint exercises with the U.S. and NATO as actions undermining regional security.
The ministry emphasized it has formally warned Japan through diplomatic channels that such measures are unacceptable. Moscow also clarified it has not imposed restrictions on Japanese citizens traveling to the Kuril Islands, attributing the main issue to Tokyo’s political stance on the matter.
