Kremlin Says No US Response Received on New START Treaty as Deadline Nears

The Kremlin has not yet received a response from the US regarding the New START treaty, with time running out for a decision, according to Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Kremlin has stated that it has not received a response from the United States concerning the New START treaty, as the deadline for a decision approaches. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian presidency, emphasized that Russia’s initiative on the treaty remains on the table, but Moscow has yet to hear back from Washington. Peskov warned that the expiration of the treaty would negatively impact strategic security.
Peskov also noted that in discussions about the future framework of strategic stability, the nuclear capabilities of the UK and France cannot be overlooked. He stressed that Russia and the US possess the largest nuclear arsenals in the world.
