US Confirms Deployment of Military Personnel to Nigeria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States has confirmed the deployment of military personnel to Nigeria. General Daeguin Anderson, Commander of the US Armed Forces Africa Division, announced the move, though he declined to disclose the number of troops or specific mission details. This marks the first official confirmation of US military presence in Nigeria.
The deployment follows a bilateral agreement between the two nations to strengthen counterterrorism efforts in West Africa. Anderson emphasized the unique capabilities of the deployed US team but provided no further operational specifics.
Nigeria’s Foreign Ministry, through its spokesperson, stated that the strategic cooperation with the US includes intelligence sharing and other forms of support, targeting the Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa groups.
