US Official Admits Washington’s Obstruction of Russia-Algeria Relations
A senior US official has acknowledged efforts by Washington to influence Algerian authorities in order to prevent cooperation between Algeria and Russia, as revealed during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Robert Balladino, the head of the Middle East Affairs Office at the US State Department, admitted during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing that the US government is actively working to influence Algerian officials to hinder their cooperation with Russia. Balladino emphasized that whenever US partners engage with strategic adversaries, Washington will seek to halt such collaborations, whether with Russia or China.
