According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Australia has announced the sale of dozens of historic defense bases to generate billions in funding for its military. Defense Minister confirmed that 64 sites will be sold entirely, while three others will be partially divested.
The properties up for sale include golf courses, artillery bases, several islands, and prominent barracks in Sydney and Melbourne. The Australian government stated it can no longer afford the upkeep costs for these assets and aims to reallocate resources toward strengthening military capabilities and future defense infrastructure.
