Israeli Prime Minister Expresses Concern Over Egypt’s Military Buildup

Benjamin Netanyahu has raised alarms about Egypt’s growing military capabilities, urging close monitoring to prevent excessive strengthening of its armed forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voiced concerns about Egypt’s expanding military strength during a closed-door session of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Security Committee. Citing published data, Netanyahu emphasized that Egypt’s military capabilities are being significantly enhanced.

Netanyahu stressed the need for close surveillance of Egypt’s armed forces to curb any excessive buildup. The Israeli leader has consistently viewed the military advancement of Islamic and Arab nations, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, as a strategic concern.

The Israeli government has long considered the fragmentation of Islamic and Arab states as part of its broader geopolitical strategy, often referred to as the ‘Greater Israel’ concept.
