Hungarian Foreign Minister Criticizes European Leaders for Supporting Zelensky After Putin-Trump Meeting

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has sharply criticized European leaders for their continued support of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The remarks came during an interview with Georgia’s Rustavi 2 channel, following the high-profile meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska.
Szijjártó asserted that the conflict in Ukraine could have concluded in 2022, but European pressure on Zelensky prevented a resolution. The minister also highlighted what he called ‘military bias’ in Brussels, citing recent statements by EU foreign ministers indicating the bloc’s unpreparedness for peace.
This criticism follows Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s earlier characterization of Ukraine as an ‘enemy’ after Kyiv requested the EU halt Russian energy supplies.
