Tehran to Host 19th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission Amid Deepening Ties

Kazem Jalali, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, met with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsiliev to finalize arrangements for the upcoming 19th Joint Economic Commission scheduled in Tehran, signaling a mutual commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation.

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, held a key meeting on Monday, February 10th [referencing the date contextually derived from the image timestamp and standard news flow], with Sergey Tsiliev, the Russian Energy Minister, to discuss bilateral cooperation and the forthcoming session of the joint economic commission.

During the discussions, Ambassador Jalali underscored that hosting the nineteenth session of the Joint Economic Commission in Tehran clearly demonstrates the close and friendly relations between Iran and Russia, as well as the seriousness of both sides in expanding these ties across all dimensions.

The Russian Energy Minister, Tsiliev, affirmed that cooperation between Iran and Russia across all spheres will continue robustly, stating that no external event can impede the upward trajectory of the two nations’ growing partnership. The high-level meeting was attended by deputy ministers from the Health and Finance sectors, along with numerous Russian officials from various state institutions.

Tsiliev confirmed his participation in the nineteenth Joint Economic Commission in the near future, announcing that he will travel to Tehran as the Russian head of the commission, accompanied by representatives from key Russian governmental bodies and the private sector.

The Iranian ambassador emphasized his country’s readiness to deepen relations with Russia in all fields. Furthermore, the parties reviewed critical issues concerning economic, cultural, and educational relations, agreeing on the necessity of removing existing obstacles to streamline collaboration.

The nineteenth session of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission is slated to take place in Tehran by the end of the current month (late Bahman). During this event, practical pathways for advancing economic cooperation in trade, investment, energy, transportation, and banking sectors, alongside cultural, educational, and technological exchanges, will be examined. This follows the eighteenth session, which was previously held in Moscow in May of the current year.
