Ukrainian Attack Damages Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Infrastructure, Cuts Power Line

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the administration overseeing the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has issued a statement confirming damage to crucial support infrastructure for the complex, as well as the adjacent city of Enerhodar, following a recent assault by Ukrainian armed forces.
The primary consequence of the shelling was the severing of one of the two main power lines supplying the facility, specifically identified as the ‘Vyrspolavnya-1’ line. This incident immediately raised concerns regarding the operational stability of the plant, Europe’s largest nuclear facility situated in an active conflict zone.
Currently, the nuclear complex is receiving the necessary electrical power via its secondary connection, the ‘Dniproveska’ line. The plant’s management further detailed that the primary heating pipeline was also struck during the attack. This secondary damage has necessitated the temporary suspension of heat supply to both residential buildings and public facilities across Enerhodar.
In their official announcement, the Zaporizhzhia NPP leadership stated that they have no immediate information regarding potential injuries stemming from the incident, assuring the public that the status of the complex remains under control. This event occurs amid escalating international apprehension over the security protocols and sustained operation of nuclear power facilities situated near front lines.
