Heated Confrontation Erupts in Turkish Parliament Over New Justice Minister Appointment

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a severe confrontation unfolded on the floor of the Turkish Parliament this Wednesday, involving lawmakers from the country’s two principal political blocs: the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).
News sources indicated that the primary trigger for the physical scuffle was the concerted effort by a contingent of opposition deputies seeking to prevent Akin Gürbüz from taking the oath of office as the nation’s new Minister of Justice. This unrest occurred shortly after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan officially announced the appointments for several key ministerial posts, including the Justice and Interior portfolios.
A decree published in the official Turkish Gazette early Wednesday confirmed the acceptance of the resignations tendered by the outgoing Ministers of Justice and the Interior. The subsequent appointments named Akin Gürbüz as the new Minister of Justice and Mustafa Çiftçi as the new Minister of Interior.
