Zelensky Indicates Next Round of Ukraine Peace Talks Likely to Convene in the United States

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the forthcoming session of peace negotiations concerning his nation is tentatively scheduled to take place in the United States on February 17th or 18th. This follows the previous round of discussions hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the next round of peace negotiations pertaining to Ukraine will likely be held in the United States on either February 17 or 18.

This potential meeting in the US comes after the most recent round of peace talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, which took place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine persists. Territorial disputes remain the principal obstacle preventing a comprehensive agreement between the opposing parties.

Both Russia and Ukraine are actively engaged in efforts to secure and expand the territories under their respective control, aiming to gain the upper hand both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table.

Previously, Matthew Whitaker, the Permanent Representative of the United States to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), had indicated that Washington anticipates clarification on matters related to territorial disputes in the coming days and weeks.

Whitaker further noted that participants in the process aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis are currently finalizing four key documents. These documents encompass a 20-point peace plan, a compilation of multilateral security guarantees, specific security assurances from the United States, and a framework for post-peace economic growth and prosperity.
