Russia to Dispatch Humanitarian Oil Shipment to Cuba Amid Energy Crisis

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Embassy in Cuba issued a statement confirming that Moscow plans to dispatch crude oil and refined petroleum products to the island nation in the near future as part of humanitarian assistance.
The energy situation in Cuba has deteriorated significantly following recent escalations, particularly the January 3rd incident where the United States reportedly detained Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Venezuela had historically been a primary supplier of oil for Cuba.
Further complicating matters, on January 29th, the United States enacted an executive order, establishing a mechanism to impose tariffs on goods from nations exporting oil to Cuba. This directive also declared a state of emergency, citing what it described as ‘a threat emanating from Cuba.’
Havana has strongly condemned these actions by Washington. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla harshly criticized the measures, deeming them a blatant violation of international trade principles. He emphasized that these US policies are creating extremely difficult living conditions for the Cuban populace.
