Drone Attack on Sudanese Mosque Kills Two Children, Wounds Thirteen

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammed Al-Sheikh, the spokesman for the Sudanese Doctors Network, confirmed in an interview with the Associated Press that a drone attack on a mosque in the central South Kordofan area of Sudan resulted in the death of two children and injuries to thirteen people.
The Doctors Network has indicated that the rebel militia known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is responsible for the attack, which occurred in the town of Al-Rahad in North Kordofan State. The network stressed that deliberately targeting children inside places of worship signifies an alarming escalation in attacks against civilians throughout the region.
The conflict between the RSF rebels and the Sudanese Army began in 2023, extending a state of turmoil that has persisted since 2019. The World Health Organization estimates that these ongoing hostilities have caused at least 40,000 fatalities and displaced 12 million people.
This incident follows another deadly strike on Saturday when RSF drone forces targeted a vehicle carrying displaced families in central Sudan, resulting in the deaths of at least 24 people, including eight children.
Recently, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights noted that the Kordofan region remains volatile and a central point of contention, as the warring parties continue to compete for control over strategic territories.
