African Union Peace and Security Council Condemns Israeli Recognition of Somaliland

The African Union Peace and Security Council has vehemently rejected Israel’s recent move to recognize the self-declared region of Somaliland, demanding an immediate reversal of the decision during its concluding session. The council also reaffirmed its commitment to Sudan’s territorial integrity amid ongoing conflict.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) strongly condemned and rejected Israel’s action in recognizing a region termed ‘Somaliland’ in the concluding statement of its recent meeting, based on data released by the Mehr News Agency.

In its official statement, the AUPSC emphasized its demand for an immediate withdrawal by Tel Aviv from this measure. Furthermore, the council called upon member states and other partners to unequivocally reaffirm the territorial sovereignty of Somalia.

In a separate section of the communiqué, addressing the volatile situation in Sudan, the African Union Peace and Security Council stressed the necessity of preserving the nation’s unity and territorial integrity. The council voiced its opposition to any parallel actions that seek to undermine the legitimacy of the Sudanese government.

The AUPSC firmly underscored the requirement for an immediate ceasefire across Sudan and categorically rejected any form of external interference within the country’s affairs.
