President Trump to Unveil Multi-Billion Dollar Fund for Gaza Reconstruction at Peace Council Summit

President Donald Trump is set to formally reveal the details of a multi-billion dollar reconstruction fund for the Gaza Strip during the inaugural Peace Council session in Washington D.C. The high-profile February 19 meeting will also feature discussions on deploying UN-mandated international peacekeeping forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, well-placed American sources have disclosed that United States President Donald Trump will unveil a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, backed by a multi-billion dollar financial commitment, during the opening session of the Peace Council.

The crucial meeting is scheduled for February 19 in Washington, D.C., and is expected to draw representatives from at least 20 nations, including several heads of state. This event marks the first official presentation of the specifics of President Trump’s Gaza strategy since the Peace Council’s establishment on January 23 in Davos, Switzerland, which occurred under the support of a United Nations Security Council resolution.

A central pillar of the next phase of the plan involves the deployment of UN-mandated international peacekeeping forces, a key component highlighted by American officials. The initial phase of this broader strategy commenced on October 10, marked by a fragile ceasefire and the cessation of a two-year conflict, which also included a prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel.

American sources further indicated that several participating nations have pledged thousands of troops to support this peacekeeping mission, with deployments anticipated in Gaza over the coming months. Under the program’s specifics, members of Hamas who surrender their weapons will be granted amnesty, and safe passage will be arranged for those wishing to exit the Gaza Strip to designated receiving countries.

Financially, President Trump will introduce the multi-billion dollar Gaza Reconstruction Fund, which has been capitalized through contributions from the council’s member nations. A US official characterized this funding mechanism as ‘generous,’ emphasizing that the United States did not directly solicit financial assistance, but rather that countries volunteered their support.

The agenda for the upcoming session also includes detailed reports concerning the National Gaza Management Committee—recently established to handle the daily administration of the territory in place of Hamas—along with assessments of the status of humanitarian aid delivery and the restructuring of the Gazan police force.

Simultaneously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Israel’s accession to the Peace Council. Regional powers, including Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, alongside emerging economies like Indonesia, have also joined the body. Conversely, some of the United States’ Western allies have adopted a more cautious posture regarding participation.

US officials sought to quell concerns regarding the potential expansion of the Peace Council’s mandate to encompass other international conflicts, assuring stakeholders that next week’s proceedings will focus exclusively on the matters pertaining to Gaza.
