New Poll Sounds Alarm Over High Probability of World War III Within Five Years

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the findings of a new poll are sounding the alarm regarding the escalating probability of a third World War breaking out soon.
The survey, commissioned by Politico magazine, revealed that a substantial majority of citizens in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany anticipate that a global conflict on the scale of World War III is likely to ignite within the coming five years.
The data illustrates a worrying trend: 46 percent of respondents in the United States believe World War III will commence in this timeframe. This sentiment is shared by 43 percent of participants in both the UK and France, while 40 percent of those surveyed in Germany hold the same conviction. These figures represent a notable increase compared to a similar poll conducted in 2025.
Furthermore, the survey pointed to significant apprehension concerning nuclear escalation, suggesting that at least one-third of participants across the US, UK, France, and Canada consider the use of nuclear weapons plausible in a potential conflict over the next five years.
The data was gathered between February 6th and 9th, 2026, involving 10,300 participants spanning the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
