Egypt Mediates as UAE Rejects Saudi Demands Over Yemen, Sudan, and Regional Posturing

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Egyptian presidency has actively stepped into the role of mediator between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the past few weeks. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi recently delivered a specific message from Riyadh to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed, according to reports published by Al-Akhbar newspaper.
The diplomatic maneuvers undertaken in the UAE, however, have yielded no tangible results thus far, as Emirati officials have characterized the specific demands forwarded by Saudi Arabia as ‘humiliating.’ Riyadh has explicitly called on Abu Dhabi to cease all support for Southern Yemeni separatists and influential figures currently residing in the UAE, demanding the handover of wanted individuals.
Furthermore, the Saudi position includes a firm request for the UAE to discontinue financial or logistical support for the Rapid Support Forces operating in Sudan. Riyadh also insists that Abu Dhabi must abandon its support for Ethiopian maneuvers concerning Somaliland. Adding to the diplomatic tension, Saudi Arabia has formally requested a visit from the UAE President to Riyadh for direct talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In response to these escalating pressures, the United Arab Emirates has publicly stated that the demands put forth by Saudi Arabia are fundamentally infeasible and are perceived by Abu Dhabi as a concerted effort intended to undermine the nation’s standing and regional influence.
