US and Philippines Agree to Deploy Advanced Missile Systems in Manila

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States and the Philippines have reached an agreement to increase the presence of advanced American missile systems within the Philippines. This decision follows a joint statement issued after a meeting between senior officials from both nations in Manila.
Washington and Manila have committed to “continue to increase the deployment of advanced U.S. missile systems and unmanned equipment in the Philippines and strive to enhance it.” This development comes after the U.S. deployed the Typhoon missile system in the Philippines in 2024. The Typhoon system is capable of firing Tomahawk cruise missiles, with a range sufficient to target large parts of China.
Beijing has issued warnings, stating that this action could be destabilizing. In addition to the Typhoon system, the U.S. has also deployed its NMESIS anti-ship missile system in the Southeast Asian nation during annual military drills. These exercises have been conducted in areas geographically proximate to Taiwan.
