Russian Ambassador States Ukraine Conflict Shattered Euro-Atlantic Security Model

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Alexey Yerkhov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan, stated that the conflict in Ukraine has resulted in the complete collapse of the Euro-Atlantic security model. He added that this model, which was founded on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the European Union, has now disintegrated.
The Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan emphasized that Russia and its allies are not responsible for the weakening and destruction of international arms control agreements in recent years. He pointed to NATO’s expansion as a violation of assurances previously given to Soviet officials, noting that this expansion has never ceased.
Alexey Yerkhov further stated that Moscow has consistently insisted on confronting the issue of NATO expansion and will remain firm on this matter.
