Russian Security Forces Dismantle Terrorist Cell, Arrest Seven in Transbaikal Region

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the successful dismantling of a terrorist cell within the country’s Transbaikal region, resulting in the apprehension of seven individuals. The security forces identified and neutralized a covert terrorist network operating from a correctional facility in the Transbaikal area.

A statement released by the FSB indicated that this terrorist cell was actively working on behalf of a proscribed international terrorist organization within the Russian Federation. Its objectives included recruiting inmates for terrorist activities and securing financial resources to support its operations.

The operation, which involved searches across Dagestan, Volgograd, Transbaikal, and Krasnodar, led to the arrest of the main organizers and members of the cell, totaling seven individuals. Investigations and operational measures are ongoing in connection with the case.
