European Union Designates Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as Terrorist Organization

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Council of Europe, continuing its antagonistic stance and following flawed U.S. policies, has officially included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a list that the European Union designates as “terrorist.” This development was reported by Mehr News Agency.

Published reports indicate that the Council of Europe announced on Thursday, with the consensus of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union, the official addition of the IRGC to its so-called “terrorist” list.

The European body claims that with the implementation of this decision, all funds, financial assets, and economic resources of the IRGC will be frozen across all European Union member countries.

Previously, the EU foreign ministers had agreed, in a political move contrary to international law, to place the IRGC, which is considered an official military organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on their list of so-called “terrorist” organizations. This action comes despite these bodies overlooking violent actions and attacks against security forces and ordinary citizens by Mossad affiliates during the January unrest in Iran.
