Trump Extends U.S. Sanctions Against Russia for One Year

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, President Donald Trump has issued an executive order extending the sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation for another year. This executive order is set to be officially published in the U.S. Federal Register.
The text of the order asserts that the sanctions against Russia will continue due to the emergency situation arising from the conflict in Ukraine. Washington continues to view the dispute in Ukraine as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to its national security and foreign policy.
These sanctions were initially imposed in 2014, 2018, and 2022, ostensibly in response to the Ukraine crisis. In his latest order, Trump stated that the risk to U.S. national security and foreign policy remains, even as Moscow officials deem these sanctions illegal and contrary to international law principles.
