Former US Intelligence Official: Trump’s Peace Council Lacks Impact, Lacks Established Experience

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Paul Shaya, a former official within the U.S. intelligence apparatus, has asserted that the Gaza Peace Council lacks the capacity to exert genuine influence on the trajectory of international disputes. He indicated that the nations involved in this new framework are unlikely to bring about substantial shifts in international stances. Trump, Shaya noted, clearly acknowledges deficiencies in current mechanisms but is attempting to establish a system devoid of accumulated and institutionalized experience.
The former U.S. security official elaborated that the primary focus of this initiative centers on Trump himself, with recent meetings demonstrating his inclination to portray himself to the world as the ‘man of peace.’ However, his signature and endorsement of this council raise serious doubts regarding its true motivations.
Paul Shaya further explained that the reluctance of certain European countries to join this council stems precisely from these concerns. He added that Trump’s overt and veiled criticisms of the United Nations do not necessarily equate to his proposed alternative being more effective.
Concluding his remarks, he emphasized that the United Nations remains the sole international body possessing multifaceted experience in halting wars, providing aid, and facilitating reconstruction. Any alternative path aimed at achieving tangible change in the real world, Shaya stressed, requires technical expertise and international consensus, rather than mere symbolic gestures.
