Hungary Threatens to Cut Electricity to Ukraine Over Russian Oil Pipeline

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán issued a warning to Ukraine on Saturday, suggesting that Hungary could cease electricity exports to the country if transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not reinstated. Orbán stated in a televised interview that a significant portion of Ukraine’s electricity supply originates from Hungary, and halting this flow could pose substantial difficulties for Kyiv.
The Hungarian Prime Minister further indicated that Slovakia has raised similar issues, and if necessary, Hungary would align with Slovakia in such a measure. He elaborated that in response to what he described as Ukraine’s hostile actions, Hungary has already suspended diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine and blocked a €90 billion European Union loan.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had announced that electricity supplies to Slovakia would be halted if Ukraine did not resume oil transit to the country by Monday.
