UAE Thwarts Organized Cyberattacks Targeting Critical Infrastructure

The United Arab Emirates announced the successful neutralization of organized, terror-oriented cyberattacks aimed at its vital digital infrastructure, according to official state news.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the official Emirates News Agency (WAM) has reported the successful thwarting of organized cyberattacks with a terrorist nature by the UAE’s cyber defense system. These assaults were directed at the digital infrastructure and critical sectors of the United Arab Emirates.

The cyber incidents were reportedly launched with the intent to destabilize the nation and disrupt essential services. The UAE’s Supreme National Security Council for Cyber Security stated that the attacks encompassed attempts to infiltrate networks, deploy ransomware malware, conduct organized phishing operations, and leverage artificial intelligence to develop sophisticated offensive tools.

The Council urged all residents of the UAE to report any cyber threats or suspicious activities through official channels to ensure the country’s digital security and the continuity of institutional operations under all circumstances. A report from Microsoft last year had ranked the UAE second in the Middle East region for cyberattack occurrences, following Israel.
