Palestinian Analyst: Occupiers Seek Control of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Limiting Palestinian Presence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Azzam Abu al-Adas, a Palestinian writer and political analyst, stated that recent developments in Jerusalem are part of a grand strategy to gradually redefine the existing realities at the Al-Aqsa Mosque by imposing faits accomplis that are being implemented quietly and without fanfare. He added that the intensification of security measures is a link in a long chain aimed at gauging Palestinian and Arab reactions and positions. The Palestinian analyst clarified that strengthening security presence and dominating the entrances to the Old City of Jerusalem indicates a clear desire to control the extent of Palestinian presence at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as reducing the number of worshippers makes it easier to implement any future changes in its management. Abu al-Adas emphasized that harsh security confrontations with worshippers, especially during religious occasions, carry a message of psychological deterrence before any field action. He concluded by warning that the continued implementation of such policies could lead to further tensions, particularly in the sensitive circumstances of Jerusalem and its religious and national significance. Any encroachment on the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque will have consequences beyond the borders of the city.
