China Urges US Tariff Review After Supreme Court Ruling

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China‘s Ministry of Commerce has issued a statement urging Washington to cancel its unilateral customs actions following a U.S. Supreme Court decision. This development occurred after U.S. President Donald Trump announced an increase in tariffs on imports from all countries from 10% to 15% in reaction to the Supreme Court’s ruling.
President Trump stated on the Truth Social platform that, following a detailed and thorough review of the Supreme Court’s months-long deliberation on tariffs, he would immediately raise the global tariff from the previously applied 10% to a legally vetted 15% on countries that have been exploiting the United States for decades without compensation. This measure followed the U.S. Supreme Court’s earlier decision, which had rejected the Trump administration’s request to impose customs duties based on a specific mechanism.
The U.S. Supreme Court had on Friday overturned Trump’s tariffs.
