The head of the European Parliament’s Trade Committee confirmed the postponement. In related developments, Bloomberg reported that the European Union is pausing the approval process for its trade agreement with the United States.
Sources familiar with the European Parliament indicated that the operational process for approving the trade deal between Brussels and Washington has been suspended. Bloomberg further reported that the European Union has requested further explanations and information from the United States on this matter.
This move follows renewed tariff threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, who has indicated an intention to increase tariffs from 10 percent to 15 percent.
