Zelensky Urges Stronger EU Sanctions on Russia, Demands Swift Aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the swift approval of a robust 20th European Union sanctions package against Russia and reiterated demands for immediate disbursement of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized that Russia’s shadow fleet has no place in European waters or markets. Zelensky stated that the €90 billion loan allocated to Ukraine must be delivered as soon as possible. He further expressed his expectation for the approval of the European Union’s 20th sanctions package against Russia, stressing that this package needs to be strong and effective.

These remarks come amid acknowledgments from the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who recently admitted Brussels’ failure to reach a consensus on further sanctions against Moscow. While this was described as a setback and an unintended message, efforts in this regard are said to be ongoing.
