US Embassy in Occupied Territories Cooperates with Israeli Regime to Legitimize Occupation

The U.S. Embassy in the occupied territories plans to offer consular services in the West Bank, a move drawing significant international backlash amid recent condemnations of Israeli settlement expansion. This unprecedented decision marks the first time U.S. consular services will be provided outside of Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Embassy in the occupied territories is set to launch unprecedented consular services in the West Bank, sparking widespread reactions. This development comes in the wake of recent international condemnations against the Israeli regime’s settlement activities in the region.

The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that these consular services will commence this coming Friday in the occupied settlement of Efrat, located in the Gush Etzion area. This marks the first instance of U.S. consular services being offered in the West Bank outside of Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem. Further expansions of these services are planned for Ramallah, Beit Shemesh, Haifa, Netanya, and Beitar Illit.

This initiative by the U.S. Embassy in the occupied territories has been interpreted by some Israeli media outlets as an implicit acknowledgment of the Israeli regime’s occupation of the region. Observers note that this action signifies the United States’ alignment with the expansionist policies of the Israeli regime and a disregard for the rights of the Palestinian people.
