US-Backed Meeting of Banned Ba’ath Party Leaders Thwarted in Kirkuk, Several Arrested

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a responsible source in Iraq‘s Kirkuk province announced that political figures in the country, with the support of the United States and some regional countries, allowed the first secret meeting of the dissolved Ba’ath Party leaders to be held. The objective of this meeting was to draft a plan for forming an interim government with the backing of these elements and to sow division among Shia, Sunni, and other Iraqi parties.
The source added that the ultimate goal of these maneuvers is to destabilize Iraq, weaken its government, and promote the dissolved Ba’ath Party.
Based on this report, Iraqi security forces, upon receiving information regarding the meeting, immediately proceeded to Kirkuk and arrested five leaders of the dissolved Ba’ath Party who had used Erbil Airport to enter Iraq.
