Israeli Analysts: Tel Aviv’s Influence in Gaza Limited, Post-Conflict Scenarios Emerge

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, prominent Israeli military analysts believe that the continued war in Gaza, without a clear endgame, is leading to a “waste of achievements.” After months of intense operations, Israel is no longer the decisive factor in the Gaza Strip.
Amos Harel, military analyst for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, noted that the plan, popularly known as the “Trump Plan” for Gaza, is reportedly being implemented. Predictions indicate the commencement of practical steps for reconstruction, the formation of a technocratic government, and the possible deployment of a limited international force.
Harel further emphasized that statements from the United States regarding the disarmament of Hamas have not yet materialized into a concrete plan or specific timeline.
Concurrently, Yoav Limor, a military analyst for the newspaper Israel Hayom, posited that Hamas will not be quick to relinquish control of Gaza. Even if compelled, the group might seek to maintain a military role similar to Hezbollah in Lebanon, where armed forces remain while civilian affairs are managed by other entities.
Limor clarified that Israel desires the full implementation of agreements, including the disarmament of Gaza. However, he expressed doubts about the capacity of international forces to achieve the objectives that Israel has been unable to secure over two years of conflict.
These analyses connect the Gaza conflict with broader regional calculations, particularly concerning Iran and the slow pace of normalization with Saudi Arabia. Analysts suggest Tel Aviv is striving to forge a united front with Washington against Tehran, even if it necessitates avoiding obstacles to proposed political arrangements for Gaza.
