Global Muslim Scholars Union Warns Against Linking Regional Deals to Israel Normalization

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Global Union of Muslim Scholars has issued a statement expressing concern over efforts to impose political and regional measures that could impact the sovereignty of Islamic nations and the will of Muslim peoples. The union called for a unified stance from Islamic countries in opposition to pressures to normalize relations with the Israeli regime.
The union declared its complete opposition to any threats against Islamic countries and Muslim peoples, severely criticizing the so-called Abraham Accords within this context. The statement highlighted that the objectives of this initiative have become apparent and are linked to supporting Israeli occupation.
The Global Union of Muslim Scholars characterized the continuation of the Israeli regime’s policies in Gaza, Lebanon, and other regions as “genocide” and “targeted destruction.” The statement emphasized that political pressures on some regional countries, including those attributed to the United States government, are aimed at dictating new political realities in the region.
The union cautioned against linking regional and international agreements to the process of normalizing relations with the Israeli regime, asserting that such connections violate international law, ethical principles, and national sovereignty. In a message addressed to Al-Azhar University in Egypt, the union urged the institution to adopt a clear position against political pressures and normalization plans, calling on scholars to oppose these approaches.
Furthermore, the Global Union of Muslim Scholars called for withdrawal from any initiative or process associated with the Abraham Accords. It urged leaders of Islamic countries to form a comprehensive strategic alliance encompassing political, economic, military, and security domains to confront shared challenges and resist external dictations.
The union concluded by warning that the absence of such an alliance would weaken the Islamic Ummah’s position and erode its capacity to face challenges.
