Hezbollah Official: Lebanon Lacks Leverage Against Israel, U.S.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mahmoud Qamati, Deputy Head of the Political Council of Hezbollah, told Al Araby channel that the “Dahieh equation” is unacceptable in response to settlements in the north of the occupied territories, a point communicated to relevant parties. He added that Hezbollah has agreed to a genuine and comprehensive ceasefire. Qamati emphasized that Hezbollah would respond to an attack on Dahieh by targeting locations deeper than the northern settlements. He reiterated that Hezbollah would abide by a ceasefire if it is real and comprehensive, stating that the group does not recognize the “blue line” and that Lebanese territories must be liberated. He also said that as long as there is escalation from the enemy, attacks on settlements in the north of the occupied territories will continue. Qamati further asserted that the Lebanese government has no leverage against Israel and the United States.
