Maritime Incident Near Oman Coast Reports Injuries, Missing Crew

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported a maritime incident near the coast of Oman. Data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, indicates that the UKMTO received information about an incident occurring 20 nautical miles northeast of Sohar Port in Oman. One vessel has reported one crew member injured and two others missing.
The UKMTO stated that local authorities have been informed of a fire breaking out in the engine room of the vessel. Further details regarding the incident have not yet been released.
This marks the second maritime incident reported today. Earlier, the UKMTO announced a separate incident 88 nautical miles southwest of Balhaf, Yemen. In that instance, the crew of a cargo ship reported being approached by a boat carrying six armed individuals. Reports also indicated an exchange of fire occurred between the two parties during that event.
