Over 100 Israeli Soldiers Revolt at Notorious Sde Teyman Detention Facility

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Hebrew-language media reported that a military revolt occurred at the notorious Israeli detention facility known as “Sde Teyman.” Over 100 soldiers and their commanders from the “Sabar” battalion, affiliated with the “Givati” Brigade, left the base without permission. Reports indicate that the soldiers, numbering over 100, abandoned their weapons inside the base and departed in protest against the battalion commander’s decision to remove and destroy specific signs, slogans, and symbols of the military units and groups. The Israeli army confirmed the incident, stating that what occurred “does not align with the army’s values,” and announced the opening of an investigative file into the event. The “Sde Teyman” camp, located in the Negev Desert, is one of the most infamous Israeli detention facilities. Hundreds of Palestinians have been held there under horrific conditions since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023. The facility is linked to numerous human rights narratives and reports documenting widespread abuses against detainees. Palestinian and international reports, alongside testimonies from released prisoners, have revealed that detainees at this camp are subjected to torture, mistreatment, beatings, and humiliation. They are deprived of medical treatment and food, which has led to the deaths of several prisoners in detention centers. In this regard, human rights organizations have called for investigations and accountability for those responsible for these violations.
