Norway Pledges $9.2 Billion Aid Package to Ukraine

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Norway intends to allocate 85 billion Norwegian Krone (approximately $9.2 billion) in financial aid to Ukraine during the 2027 fiscal year, according to data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Reuters. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, alongside leaders from the Nordic and Baltic regions, visited Kyiv on Sunday to express support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. In a speech published by the government in Oslo, Støre stated that Norway’s financial aid would cover both military and humanitarian expenses. He emphasized that support for Ukraine’s recovery is not merely aid but an investment in Europe’s own security. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in comments released on Saturday, warned that Kyiv’s attacks on Russian economic targets have opened “Pandora’s box,” and Moscow would strike Ukraine’s most sensitive economic sectors. Both Russia and Ukraine are intensifying their drone attacks, targeting each other’s economic infrastructure as the conflict approaches its fourth and a half year.
