The streets of Dubai are still under water + pictures

People are struggling to resume their normal lives after severe floods in Dubai disrupted land and air transport.

Reports indicate that Dubai is busy clearing waterlogged roads and drying out flooded homes after the heaviest rainfall in 75 years that began on Monday.

According to Reuters, while the flood still covers parts of the highways, Dubai International Airport is trying to resume its flights. It is said that transportation in this city is severely disrupted.

The rains, which caused significant damage, were the heaviest rains in the last 75 years in the UAE. The flood trapped people in traffic, their workplaces and their homes, and the images that were published on social networks showed that the water covered shopping centers and the subway.

Rain is a rare phenomenon in the UAE, which is known for its desert climate, and the temperature can reach over 50 degrees in summer. After Tuesday’s events, the question arose whether cloud fertilization caused the heavy rain or not. An UAE government agency denied conducting such an operation before the storm.

On the other hand, some experts believe that climate change probably caused such an event.
