The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the US veto

The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the United States' resolution on Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria announced in a statement: We condemn the veto of the resolution of Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations by the United States. America’s failure to implement the historic responsibility of the Security Council to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation is another stain on America’s record, which always violates the principles of international collective action and blindly favors the Israeli occupation regime.

Quoted by the official Syrian news agency (SANA), the Syrian Foreign Ministry emphasized: This US action will only increase instability and insecurity in the West Asia.

America vetoed the resolution proposed by Algeria, which demanded the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations, at the early morning meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

America had previously threatened to veto the resolution.

Approving this resolution meant recognizing the state of Palestine.

Previously, there were news about the US trying to put pressure on other countries to vote against Palestine’s membership in the United Nations.

In this voting, 12 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution, and the votes of England and Switzerland also abstained.

This is the fourth US veto to support the Zionist regime since the beginning of the Gaza war.
