report Mehr News Agency, citing Politico, German authorities arrested three people on suspicion of spying for China and providing military information to Beijing’s intelligence service.
According to the German Prosecutor’s Office, all three suspects are German nationals and are suspected of having “extremely” close cooperation with the Chinese secret service since an unspecified time before June 2022. .
German prosecutors named one of the suspects as “Thomas R.” and the employee of the Ministry of Internal Security of China and the other two suspects as “Herving F.” and “Ina F.” The owner has introduced a company in Dusseldorf.
According to the Berlin Prosecutor’s Office, the owners of the said company are a couple and through this company they sign a cooperation agreement with a German university. In this contract, there was an agreement to carry out studies on behalf of a Chinese partner in the field of key parts for the construction and launch of powerful warships.
