The preparation of the World Bank for the start of the “Casa Hazar” project in Afghanistan

The Afghanistan Electricity Distribution Company (Barshana) announced that the World Bank will start work on the Casa Hazar electricity transmission project in Afghanistan this month.

According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, “Hakmatullah “Meundi” Afghanistan Electricity Distribution Company (Brashna) announced that in the last meeting that this office had with the representatives of the World Bank and contract companies in Turkey, it was decided that the work of Casa Hazar electricity transmission project will start in May of this year.

Casa Hazar project is a 1.2 billion dollar energy transfer project from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan through Afghanistan.

The total cost of this project is estimated to be more than one billion dollars and the necessary credits have been allocated to this project by the World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

This project in Afghanistan passes through 33 cities in the provinces of Kunduz, Panjshir, Baghlan, Kapisa, Kabul, Laghman and Nangarhar, and with the implementation of those provinces, they will benefit from electricity.
